U.C.M.A
Set
up in 1997 by Colin Williams, to access funding from the National lottery
via the Arts for everyone grants. The association has a core committee
of 8 members who meet once a month at Southlake studio in Ulverston.
Our main activities are centred around presenting and recording original music being played by local bands and local songwriters. The area is rich in talent but so often it lacks a voice as gigs are very hard to find for new music. We started Club LA12 to address this and showcase new music, by hiring a room above the Cons club in Ulverston twice a month. We
have recieved funding from Cumbria county council and The National Lottery
